WWE RAW RESULTS AND LIVE BLOG FOR APRIL 29

There’s an echo in my body. Echoes slide down the roof, you looked like heaven in bloom. I might now look deep in those eyes, but first I gotta liveblog this here pro wrestling show for these folks.

The show opens with Logan Paul and his buddies rolling up to the arena.

Judgment Day meet him and Damian Priest congratulates him on his hard work and tells him the title looks good on him. Paul returns the compliments and glad handing.

Michael Cole and Pat McAfee are at ringside to welcome us to the show and discuss Friday’s portion of the draft and show off the Raw and SmackDown draft rooms and the room at the Performance Center with the NXT roster watching.

Becky Lynch makes her entrance and gets on the mic. She says this is where people say The Man was born, and she talks about it taking two years to get back to a title and how she wants to fight the best—

Enter Liv Morgan.

She brags about injuring Rhea Ripley and being the only reason that Becky is holding the title, and she won’t stop until she has everything she wants.

Lynch says she’s right, she wouldn’t be holding this if it wasn’t for what Morgan did, but the interesting thing is that Liv would be holding it if it weren’t for what Becky did to her.

Enter Nia Jax.

She says this is her last week on Raw and she’s going to the superior brand but she’s here and she’s gonna kick some ass, and Liv steps up to the challenge.

We see Stephania McMahon backstage with a handful of draft cards and we go to break.

Back from commercial, we see Sami Zayn and Bronson Reed making their way into the arena earlier today.

Stephanie McMahon makes her entrance to preside over the first round of tonight’s draft. Raw picks Imperium (consisting of GUNTHER and Ludwig Kaiser) first, then Jade Cargill to SmackDown, then Damage CTRL (IYO SKY, Asuka, Kairi Sane, and Dakota Kai) to Raw, and finally, Kevin Owens to SmackDown.

GUNTHER vs. Xavier Woods

Woods running hot on GUNTHER early, sending him to the floor, the Ring General cuts him down with a chop and suplexes him into the apron as we go to break!

Back from commercial, GUNTHER in control, Xavier throwing desperate chops but the Ring General hammers him to the mat in return! Woods fires up, but GUNTHER backs him into the corner and lays a pair of chops and a lariat in! Xavier manages a suplex lift, GUNTHER reverses and chops him down!

Shoulder block from the apron, the Ring General shoves him back and Woods’ leg gets tied up in the ropes! Hurting bad, GUNTHER stomps away at the knee, referee Eddie Orengo tries to peel him loose and Xavier eats another chop before he’s freed! Writhing on the floor in agony, we go to break!

Back from commercial, GUNTHER with repeated knee drops to the knee, working Xavier over, jawing at Kofi Kingston before setting Woods up in the Tree of Woe and chopping away at his knee! Orengo frees Xavier again, GUNTHER puts him in a half-crab, Kofi’s about to the throw the towel in but Woods screams at him that he can do it and Kingston shifts gears to cheering him on!

Crawling for the ropes, inches away, the Ring General readjusts, stepover toehold and into the cravate...

GUNTHER wins by submission with a stepover toehold cravate.

“Main Event” Jey Uso is interviewed backstage.

He says Damian Priest is gonna catch a Yeetdown, and as far as Logan Paul goes he just wishes they would have signed the Paul brother with a winning record, and we go to break.

Back from commercial, we see a sick child being awarded with a title belt earlier today.

We also see some football men in the front row.

Logan Paul makes his entrance and puts over another football man, who gets a big introduction from Samantha Irvin.

He and his buddy announce the next round of picks— CM Punk to Raw, the Pride (Bobby Lashley, Angelo Dawkins, Montez Ford, and B-FAB) to SmackDown, Braun Strowman to Raw, and Tiffany Stratton to SmackDown.

Logan’s not done talking, and he now wants to get real— he came to Kansas City to make some picks and hang out with his pals but now Jey Uso’s talking trash? Well Damian Priest is going to beat him and—

Enter “Main Event” Jey Uso.

He polls the crowd on whether he can win, and Logan claims that he cannot out-yeet him because he has in fact been yeeting since 2017.

Finn Balor and JD McDonagh arrive in the ring while Paul runs Jey down as being no good alone. He calls Uso stupid and Jey launches into it, attacking JD but quickly getting overrun by that gosh darn numbers game. Logan goes to his football buddy and gets three Super Bowl rings like brass knuckles... AND ACCIDENTALLY KNOCKS MCDONAGH OUT!

Jey does a “you got knocked the f*ck out!” and takes Finn down for mounted punches but still the heels have the numbers and take him out— BRAUN STROWMAN MAKES THE SAVE! HE CHOKESLAMS BALOR AS LOGAN RUNS AWAY!

Braun goes to leave but turns around to face Logan’s football buddy and they jaw but Jey Uso pulls him back.

Chad Gable concludes some business with R-Truth and shakes his hand when Miz rolls up to ask what he’s doing making matches.

Truth says Gable gave him a “one now two later” and speculates about getting drafted to the NFL before getting excited about insurance? I dunno.

Gable turns around as the champions leave and Sami Zayn blasts him with a Helluva Kick!

And so we go to break.

Back from commercial, Booker T is interviewed for some analysis on the Draft thus far.

Drew McIntyre appears behind him and takes issue with him saying CM Punk getting drafted ahead of him is a good move. Book asks if him he knows what happened with him and Drew accuses him of changing and hiding his true feelings about CM Punk.

“Big” Bronson Reed vs. Sami Zayn (c) (WWE Intercontinental Championship)

Circling, Zayn goes behind, Reed rams him into the corner but Sami slips out into chops! Bronson shoves him down, shoulder block, big overhand chop and a headbutt follows! Bronson in control and we go to break!

Back from commercial, whip across, springboard up and over, Sami with a lariat for some breathing room! Back elbow out of the corner, on the second, Bronson counters with a Rock Bottom... SO CLOSE! Bronson trying to capitalize, Sami takes him out, lines him up... CHAD GABLE RUNS IN WITH A GERMAN SUPLEX!

Sami Zayn wins by disqualification.

Post-match, Gable beats Sami down, clubbing crossface strikes, ankle lock applied in the middle of the ring and he falls back into the grapevine as referees come down to break it up! Bronson Reed recovers and clobbers Gable!

We get a hype reel for Kiana James and we go to break.

Back from commercial, Ron Simmons and John “Bradshaw” Layfield make their entrance to announce another round of draft picks— Latino World Order (Rey Mysterio, Dragon Lee, Cruz Del Toro, Joaquin Wilde, Zelina Vega, and Carlito) to Raw, Legado del Fantasma (Santos Escobar, Angel Garza, Humberto Carrillo, and Elektra Lopez) to SmackDown, Drew McIntyre to Raw, and Shinsuke Nakamura to SmackDown.

Drew McIntyre comes to the stage to complain about getting picked so late and congratulates CM Punk for injuring him at WrestleMania, because he’s got a fractured elbow but he tapes his elbow and comes to work because he’s a real man, unlike—

CM Punk is here!

He has a live mic up in a skybox! He’s not sitting at home, he’s right here, and he calls Drew a little bitch, which sends McIntyre running to the skybox as Ron Simmons gives us a “...DAMN!”

Backstage Alpha Academy are happy and hyping Maxxine Dupri up when Chad Gable shows up to poop her party and berates Otis and Tozawa and demands they go out there and win him a championship.

Ivy Nile rolls up to take Maxxine away and we go to break.

Back from commercial, Bron Breakker is interviewed backstage.

He says Adam Pearce knows he’s the best possible pick for Raw because he’s here to take over.

Sheamus rolls up and tells that Bron reminds him of young him, having banger after banger, and Drew McIntyre storms past looking for CM Punk.

Candice LeRae vs. Maxxine Dupri

Dupri looking to prove herself, suplex sets up a bulldog, she’s got Candice rattled, reverse Caterpillar connects! Ankle lock applied in the middle of the ring, LeRae crawling, Maxxine keeps it locked on until Indi Hartwell attacks Ivy Nile on the floor! Candice with a big boot...

Candice LeRae wins by pinfall with a surfboard stomp that we’re informed is called Wicked Stepmother.

We get a recap of Santos Escobar showing the security camera footage of Carlito beating Dragon Lee up and commentary points out the awkward situation of Carlito getting drafted with the LWO.

The Latino World Order, sans Carlito, are interviewed backstage.

Rey Mysterio says it’s a lot of mixed emotions but they’re excited to be here and he doesn’t know why Carlito did what he did but they still have unfinished business.

Dominik Mysterio rolls up to taunt Rey, who points out you can’t run Monday Night Raw without being drafted and laughs at his moustache, calling him Dirty Sanchez as we go to break.

Back from commercial, Drew McIntyre is still hunting for CM Punk’s skybox, but when he finds it he’s gone, leaving just a signed 8x10.

CM Punk makes his entrance and gets on the mic.

He says he loves Kansas City so he’s not going to waste their time and he’s gonna get it over with in 5:46, less time than Drew’s title reign, and he asks Pat McAfee to time him.

He says he’d usually ask if he has his attention but Drew is more like an ex-girlfriend he can’t get rid of. He hurt his elbow? Good, McIntyre prayed for CM to get hurt, so he hurt him back, and he got drafted first because all Drew is doing is sniping on Twitter while he was given purpose.

Simple wrestling economics, he’s the best in the world in this ring, on this microphone, and even on commentary nobody can touch him (no offense Pat and Michael). Losers hope things happen, pray for them to happen, winners make it happen, and when he’s cleared, when he’s 100%, he promises he’s going to make McIntyre’s life a living hell.

In and out in two minutes, just like he said. Best in the world, now and forever.

Alundra Blayze and Teddy Long come down to give us our next round of picks, Punk hugs Teddy and Blayze waves him off but relents and accepts a kiss on the cheek.

Raw picks Judgment Day (Finn Balor, Dominik Mysterio, and JD McDonagh), Naomi to SmackDown, Ilja Dragunov to Raw, and Chelsea Green and Piper Niven to SmackDown.

Liv Morgan vs. Nia Jax

Jax shoving her down, throwing her around, cutting off a rally and dragging her into the corner for a giant step but Liv gets up before she can finish her and attacks her leg to send Nia to the floor! Off the ropes, Morgan with a baseball slide, caught and reversed into a wheelbarrow facebuster into the announce desk as we see Tiffany Stratton watching at ringside as we go to break!

Back from commercial, Jax in control with a Cobra Clutch, Samoan Drop, cover for two! Morgan turns her around, nearfall but she’s in the ropes, high stack powerbomb against the odds... NIA KICKS OUT! Naomi appears to brawl with Stratton, big Penalty Kick lays Stratton out but Nia blasts her off the apron in turn!

Liv with a Codebreaker...

Liv Morgan wins by pinfall with Oblivion.

Backstage, Booker T is again called on to give draft commentary and he congratulates Ilja Dragunov on getting drafted.

Adam Pearce walks by and gets flagged for an interview of his own and he’s pleased with Raw’s draft performance but sometimes it’s the pick you don’t make and he is VERY glad that Chelsea Green is Nick Aldis’ problem now.

And we go to break.

Back from commercial we get a recap of Logan Paul’s appearance earlier in the show.

Bubba Ray and D-Von Dudley make their entrance carrying a table and they set it up before taking the podium to make another round of draft picks— New Day (Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods) to Raw, Pretty Deadly (Elton Prince and Kit Wilson) to SmackDown, Lyra Valkyria to Raw, and Candice LeRae and Indi Hartwell to SmackDown.

Awesome Truth make their entrance and we go to break.

Alpha Academy (Akira Tozawa & Otis Dozovic) vs. Awesome Truth (R-Truth & the Miz) (c) (WWE World Tag Team Championship)

Back from commercial, match joined in progress, Miz and Otis tag in and the A-Lister goes to town with corner kicks! Kicks and a Stunner over the ropes take Dozer down but he catches a springboard crossbody into a World’s Strongest Slam! Otis sets up the Caterpillar and it connects, and he tags Tozawa in!

Akira up top, diving senton... KNEES ARE UP! Miz goes for the Skull-Crushing Finale, countered with an arm drag, tag to Truth...

Awesome Truth win by pinfall with Truth-Crushing Finale on Akira Tozawa to retain the WWE World Tag Team Championship.

Backstage Dominik Mysterio is upset about falling to the fourth round and Damian Priest gives him the business for not talking with him before interfering with his business. JD McDonagh is bloodied over the eye and Damian berates him to stick to the plan harder, and we go to break.

Back from commercial, Becky Lynch congratulates Liv Morgan on her win when Damage CTRL roll up.

Dakota Kai says it’ll be nice to see her on Mondays and Becky yells about not touching her title.

Nick Aldis and Adam Pearce are at the podium to wrap up this year’s draft— Final Testament (Karrion Kross, Akam, Rezar, Scarlett Bordeaux, and Paul Ellering) to Raw, #DIY (Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa) to SmackDown, “Big” Bronson Reed to Raw, and Blair Davenport to SmackDown.

“Main Event” Jey Uso makes his entrance and we go to break.

Andrade el Idolo, “Main Event” Jey Uso, & Ricochet vs. Judgment Day (Damian Priest, Finn Balor, & JD McDonagh)

Balor and Andrade to start, cirlcing, Finn backs him into the corner with body blows, grounds him with a side headlock, off the ropes, el Idolo tranquilo in the ropes, sending Balor to the floor with a back body drop and JD out with him as well! Ricochet tags in, stereo suicide dives and Jey dives on Priest as we go to break!

Back from commercial, kneeling surfboard from Damian in on Ricochet, Broken Arrow follows, cover for two! Heat segment rolls on, tags made, Jey in hot, enzuigiri puts Balor down in the corner, Priest runs interference and Finn is able to back body drop him to the apron.

Enzuigiri from the apron, diving crossbody, McDonagh makes the save! The match breaks down into “everybody do something cool” territory, Damian gets him up but Uso slips out and hits a Samoan drop! JD McDonagh tries to help and messes things up, Jey with superkicks for everybody!

Off the ropes, spear on Balor, who had tagged in...

Andrade el Idolo, Jey Uso, & Ricochet win by pinfall with a diving splash from Uso on Finn Balor.

Post-match, Priest is sour while the babyfaces celebrate and commentary hypes Backlash up.

That’s the show, folks.
